Who We Are
Alabama Lifestyle Medicine uses the evidence-based lifestyle factors at our disposal as a primary (but not exclusive) means to prevent, treat and reverse disease. Our goal is to involve patients in their own care, enabling them to become the arbiters of their own health.

Meet Dr. Gudel
Dr. Gudel is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. Receiving a B.S. in Community Health from Texas A&M University, she then graduated from Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. She completed a traditional Osteopathic internship in Cleveland, Ohio, followed by an internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Upon completion of residency, she joined the US Air Force, was deployed to Afghanistan three times, and earned her wings by becoming a flight surgeon along the way.
Seven years later, a cancer diagnosis caused a change in Dr. Gudel’s career trajectory, leading to board certification in Lifestyle Medicine and the start of Birmingham’s first American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM)-type Lifestyle Medicine practice. She is excited to practice true health care as opposed to the reactive care of traditional medicine.
By addressing the root causes of disease, which are so often lifestyle-related, she has successfully treated many medical conditions, enabling patients to dedicate less of their time and finances toward the health care that is so often “sick care.”
